Of Mice and Men
Written by John Steinbeck (1937)
Two men, who are displaced from work,
move from place to place in order to find
work. However, their movements get them
into trouble.
The Crucible
Written by Arthur Miller (1953)
This play is not what it seems. The main
focus is a fictional story about the Salem
witch trials that took place in Massachussetts
in 1692 and 1693
*You will write a literary analysis for The Crucible. The essay has no page limit.
You will also write a 5-page research paper. The topic of the paper will be up to you; however, it must be approved by me prior to starting your research.
Romeo and Juliet Assignment
For Romeo and Juliet, the students will create a flip chart that contains at least one quote from each scene, then writes their personal reaction for that quote. This assignment is graded on a pass or fail grading scale. If they turn in a completed flip chart, they get full credit. The full assignment can be found here.
